As project lead, Anqotemug Maqamigew has completed the baseline wetland and vegetation assessment program in 2023, with administrative support for the avian species surveys in 2024.

Department of Defense Base Gagetown – Solar Farm

Anqotemug Maqamigew had been requested by CBCL limited to provide considerable field support to the Windy Ridge Wind Project by Everwind Fuels in the Summer of 2024. Field support included wetland delineation, wetland functional assessments and rare plant surveys in 2024.

Everwind Fuelds (CBCL Limited) – Windy Ridge Project

With the support of numerous organizations and partial funding from Environment & Climate Change Canada (ECCC), Sikniktuk Climate Adaptation was approved for $933k. Over a three-year duration, our objectives were to acquire up to 100-ha of land within the Inner Bay of Fundy, develop and conduct community outreach/education events, and began a baseline Environmental Assessment on vulnerable coastal habitats adjacent to human made infrastructure. Funding was made possible through the Indigenous Led-Area Based Conservation from ECCC. Acquired lands were donated to local Mi’kmaw land trust.

Sikniktuk Climate Adaptation
April 2023 – March 2026
Anqotemug Maqamigew had been requested by WSP to lead the wetland and vegetation assessments for the proposed 32 turbine Strait Shores Wind Center by TransAlta. Assessments included early vegetation and wetland assessments for 2023 and 2024. The field assessments have been currently been put on hold.
